The danger after the rescue
A cat can leave the street—
and still be waiting to be saved.
The carrier door closes. The rescuer starts driving. But the urgent costs have only begun.
There may be an examination, blood tests, medication, surgery, food, transport, and a safe place to recover. Independent rescuers often face those decisions with limited cash and no time to launch a new appeal for every invoice.
“A one-time contribution can open a door. A dependable monthly reserve helps the next door open too.”
One life. Every next step.
A rescue is a chain.
Every link matters.
Monthly support helps the pooled operation respond across six essential stages.
-
01
Street pickup
A partner rescuer reaches a cat in danger and moves the animal to safety.
-
02
Clinic intake
A veterinary professional evaluates the cat and identifies the most urgent needs.
-
03
Tests & diagnosis
The team gathers the information needed to choose the next responsible step.
-
04
Medicine or surgery
The pooled fund helps support a share of eligible treatment costs as cases require.
-
05
Food & temporary shelter
Recovery needs nutrition, monitoring, and a safe place away from the street.
-
06
Recovery & next placement
The partner continues care toward recovery and, when possible, an appropriate permanent home.
Your monthly support does not fund a single isolated moment. It helps keep the whole chain moving.

Founding goal
300
monthly supporters
One rescue reserve that is ready before the next call.
At the $19 starting level, 300 monthly supporters would create $5,700 in gross monthly support before processor fees, currency conversion, refunds, disputes, operating costs, and case expenses.
That is a funding-capacity goal—not a guaranteed number of surgeries or rescues.

Questions a careful supporter should ask.
Clarity is not a conversion obstacle. It is part of earning a recurring commitment.
Where does my payment go?
Your payment enters a pooled rescue fund. Depending on documented need, it may help support pickup, transport, veterinary intake, tests, medicine, surgery, food, temporary shelter, partner payments, payment fees, and reasonable operating or fundraising costs.
Am I sponsoring one specific cat?
No, unless Safe Paws confirms a separate restriction in writing. Pooled support is directed across eligible cases according to documented need.
Can I change or cancel my monthly support?
Yes. Your confirmation email includes a secure link to lower your monthly amount or cancel, and you can request a new link anytime from “Manage monthly support” at the bottom of this page.
Where does Safe Paws operate?
Operations begin with partner rescuers in Brazil. Expansion will happen only as partners, payment routes, welfare standards, record access, and local requirements are verified.
Is my payment tax-deductible?
Safe Paws does not currently represent payments as tax-deductible in your country. Your confirmation is a payment receipt, not a charitable tax receipt.
The street is only the beginning
The next call will not wait for a fundraiser.
Help make sure pickup is followed by an examination. An examination is followed by treatment. Treatment is followed by food, safety, and time to recover.
